Criteria for Re-Certification for Previously Certified Instructors
Softimage will re-certify instructors who meet the necessary criteria on SOFTIMAGE|XSI 6.x. A Softimage Certified Instructor applicant must complete an application designed to assess product and industry knowledge. Upon receiving the application, a member of the Softimage Training Team will contact the applicant via email, and possibly conduct a telephone interview in order to assess eligibility. Candidates who meet the criteria will then receive access to Softimage Training content and the XSI 6.x exam.
Re-certification criteria:
Candidates must have passed a previous Softimage Certification exam on XSI v.5. Passing of said exam must be verifiable by Softimage based on the information submitted in the application form.
Applicants certified on a version prior to XSI v.5 will be required to re-take the complete Softimage Certified Instructor exam. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Re-Certification Process on XSI 6 for Previously Certified Instructors

Candidates must complete the written Certification exam based on Softimage Training Content.

Completed written exams must be submitted via the Exam Submission upload page.
Written exams will be assessed by a member of the Softimage Training Team.
Written exams must be submitted in English* (*Japanese and Mandarin exams also will be accepted)
Camtasias can be submitted in any language.

Candidates must also complete and submit one (1) Camtasia video tutorial on “How to Teach” on one (1) of the main XSI 6.x features (Delta, MOTOR, Material Manager, Crosswalk, Syflex Cloth, Hair & Fur).
- Video Tutorials should be no longer than ten (10) minutes in length, captured at full screen resolution, and saved as ".camrec" files.

Camtasias must be submitted via the Exam Submission upload page.
Camtasia videos will be assessed by a member of the Softimage Training Team.
Tutorials must be suitable to be placed on Softimage.com.
Candidates for the Softimage Certified Instructor Program are expected to thoroughly review the Softimage Training content. The written exam, based on that material, must be submitted with accompanying Camtasia videos, which are required to meet the Avid “Terms of Use” for posting material on www.softimage.com.
DO NOT SEND OTHER MATERIALS UNLESS REQUESTED. SUBMISSION MATERIALS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

Softimage reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time; to determine in its sole discretion who shall be approved; and rescind the certification should the applicant’s eligibility change or if Softimage determines that, in its sole discretion, that an SCI is no longer reflecting the goals of the program. By submitting an application, applicants agree that Softimage may collect and store their personal information, subject to its publicly posted Privacy Policy (available at softimage.com). Softimage will not comment on the deliberations except to report the results.
