How to Activate SOFTIMAGE|XSI Essentials

On Windows

New Customers:

Download and run the XSI setup program. After installation is complete you must generate a request code from the license manager and submit it to licensing@softimage.com, or submit a request online through the Softimage Customer Portal.

For detailed instructions on how to generate a request code, or for more information on activating XSI, please visit the Softimage Customer Portal or the Support section of the Softimage wiki.

Existing Customers:

If you are eligible for an upgrade, your license keys have already been pre-generated for you. Download and run the XSI setup program. During installation the setup will detect if a new license is available for you. If so it will be automatically downloaded and installed on your system. You may also manually trigger this process from the license manager with the 'Get License' button. If you do not have an active internet connection your license can be manually downloaded from the Softimage Customer Portal.

For detailed instructions on how to generate a request code or more information on activating XSI, please visit the Softimage Customer Portal or the Support section of the Softimage wiki.

On Linux

Extract the compressed setup file to a temporary location and run the XSI and SPM setup programs. When the SPM setup program prompts you to select the kind of dongle to use, choose IBU. When you finish installing SPM, start Lictools and click Generate Request. Copy the generated request code and go to the Softimage Customer Portal to request your license.

If you’re not eligible for the free XSI 6 upgrade, you need to request a license by filling out our License Request Form on the Softimage Customer Portal.
