How to Activate SOFTIMAGE|XSI 6.01 Advanced
Note: If you already activated XSI 6.0, you do not need to activate XSI 6.01. XSI 6.01 uses a 6.0 license. After you install XSI 6.01, you can run it using the 6.0 license you already have. Any 6.x version will use the 6.0 license.
If you’re eligible for the free XSI 6 upgrade, your license has been pre-generated for you.
On Windows: Extract the setup file to a temporary location and run the setup. At the end of the setup, you will be prompted to update your license. The License Manager will automatically detect the license assigned to the dongle that is connected to your machine and install it for you.
If you don’t have an internet connection on your license server, go to the Customer Portal to download your license. Then, open the License Manager and chose the 'Install License' button. Select the file by browsing to it and chose enter.
On Linux: Extract the compressed file to a temporary location and run the XSI and SPM setup programs. During the SPM installation, you will be prompted to select the kind of dongle to use (COM1, COM2, IBU or ETX). Choose IBU. Go to the Customer Portal to download your license. Then, start Lictools and click Generate Request. Copy the generated request code and go to the Customer Portal to request your license.
If you’re not eligible for the free XSI 6 upgrade, you need to request a license by filling out our License Request Form on the Softimage Customer Portal.
